Melanoma in situ D03- >
Clinical Information
A melanoma of the skin characterized by the presence of melanoma cells in the dermal-epidermal junction
only, without infiltration of the papillary or reticular dermis.
Abnormal melanocytes (cells that make melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color) are found in the
epidermis (outer layer of the skin). These abnormal melanocytes may become cancer and spread into
nearby normal tissue.
Stage 0 includes: tis, n0, m0. Tis: melanoma in situ. N0: no regional lymph node metastases. M0: no
detectable evidence of distant metastases
Carcinoma in situ of skin D04- >
Type 1 Excludes
erythroplasia of Queyrat (penis) NOS (D07.4)
melanoma in situ (D03.-)
Clinical Information
Abnormal cells are found in the lower part of the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin). These
abnormal cells may become cancer and spread into nearby normal tissue.
Stage 0 includes: tis, n0, m0. Tis: carcinoma in situ. N0: no regional lymph node metastasis.
M0: no clinical or radiographic evidence of distant metastasis.
Stage 0: tis: carcinoma in situ; n0: no regional lymph node metastasis; m0: no distant metastasis.
Carcinoma in situ of breast D05- >
Type 1 Excludes
carcinoma in situ of skin of breast (D04.5)
melanoma in situ of breast (skin) (D03.5)
Paget's disease of breast or nipple (C50.-)
Clinical Information
Abnormal cells that are confined to the ducts or lobules in the breast. There are two forms,
called ductal carcinoma in situ (dcis) and lobular carcinoma in situ (lcis).
Stage 0 includes: tis, n0, m0. Tis: carcinoma in situ. N0: no regional lymph node metastasis.
M0: no distant metastasis.
Stage 0 includes: tis, n0, m0. Tis: carcinoma in situ. N0: no regional lymph node metastasis.
M0: no distant metastasis.
There are 2 types of stage 0 breast carcinoma in situ: ductal carcinoma in situ (dcis) and
lobular carcinoma in situ (lcis). Dcis is a noninvasive condition in which abnormal cells are
found in the lining of a breast duct (a tube that carries milk to the nipple). The abnormal
cells have not spread outside the duct to other tissues in the breast. In some cases, dcis may
become invasive cancer and spread to other tissues, although it is not known how to predict which
lesions will become invasive cancer. Lcis is a condition in which abnormal cells are found in the
lobules (small sections of tissue involved with making milk) of the breast. This condition seldom
becomes invasive cancer; however, having lcis in one breast increases the risk of developing breast
cancer in either breast.

cervical intraepithelial glandular neoplasia
cervical intraepithelial neoplasia III [CIN III]
